BEHIND THE SYSTEM

Becky Furlong is an Athletic Therapist and the founder of ActiveLife Therapy in Wexford. She specialises in bridging the gap between clinical rehabilitation and peak performance, ensuring that recovery is never a matter of chance.

Journey & Experience

Becky’s path into the field began with a fascination for human performance and the body's innate resilience. In 2022, she graduated from SETU Carlow with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy. Since then, she has built an extensive professional portfolio that spans the full spectrum of competitive sports.

Becky has worked at both club and intercounty levels, gaining invaluable experience with:

  • Wexford Minor Footballers

  • Wexford Senior Ladies Footballers

  • Wexford FC

  • Rugby & Hurling teams at various competitive tiers.

The MOVE Framework

Throughout her career, Becky noticed a frustrating pattern: athletes were returning to the pitch too soon, only to suffer re-injury. To solve this, she developed the MOVE Framework—a structured, testable, and measurable recovery system designed to replace guesswork with proof.

By utilising objective data, Becky ensures that when a client returns to play, they aren't just "feeling better"—they are physically validated and ready to compete.

Focus & Philosophy

While her experience with elite GAA, soccer, and rugby players is extensive, Becky’s mission at ActiveLife Therapy is to bring that same "pro-level" care to the wider Wexford community.

  • Areas of Focus: High-level return-to-play protocols, biomechanical screening, and long-term injury prevention.

  • Her Passion: Longevity. Whether a client is chasing a provincial title or simply looking to stay active in daily life, Becky is driven by the goal of keeping people moving for as long as possible.

  • Her Philosophy: Becky does not believe in "quick fixes." She believes in empowerment through evidence. Her role is to provide the roadmap and the metrics; the client’s role is to put in the work. Together, they ensure that recovery is both effective and permanent.
